Wartman-White out for another season

UNIVERSITY PARK - Fifth-year senior linebacker Nyeem Wartman-White will miss the rest of the season after suffering what appeared to be another knee injury against Temple. The exact injury was undisclosed by the team.
Wartman-White fell down during a Penn State punt on Saturday after his right leg appeared to buckle. He later returned to the sidelines on crutches with a brace around his right leg.
This will be Wartman-White's second year in a row missing a season due to injury. Last year, during the season opener at Temple, he went down with a torn ACL and missed the entire year.
"Feel for Nyeem because he's had two years in a row where he's missed the season," head coach James Franklin said.
Although his positive leadership won't be on the field, his teammates know his optimistic presence will still be felt off of it.
"Can't imagine what he's going through, but I know if there is somebody who can get through this and get past it, it'll be him," offensive lineman Derek Dowrey said.
Franklin added, "(He) has had an unbelievable attitude from a leadership standpoint. So that's always difficult, obviously at a position where we are already thin at."
All of Penn State's starting linebackers are out with injury. Jason Cabinda and Brandon Bell both did not play against Temple and may not be healthy to play in their next game against Michigan. This means many young players will move up on the depth chart to help fill the holes.
As for Wartman-White returning to the field someday, he could still play another year if he applied for a medical waiver but Franklin did not comment if he would or not.
