Ponfeigh Distillery to begin construction in less than 30 days, new to Somerset County

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A commitment letter signing was held at the site of Ponfeigh Distillery, which is coming to Somerset County.

Construction will begin in under 30 days, according to owner Maximilian Merrill.

Their architect, contractor, and bank were also at the signing to show their excitement.

Maximillian told us last year about his plans for economic growth in Somerset County.

"This is a perfect location. It's right in the heart of Somerset. It's on 219. Now that we have that expansion, 219 gets so much more traffic than it used to. We have the turnpike 1.3 miles away. We're really excited about how this is going to contribute to the Somerset economy," he said.

The Ponfeigh Distillery site is the old 84-Lumber building in Somerset.
