Matt Canada expected to return as Steelers' OC in 2023

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Matt Canada is expected to return as the Steelers' Offensive Coordinator for the 2023-24 season.
Canada has one year remaining on his current contract and his expected return to the organization, in large part, can be credited to the team's overall improvement in the latter half of the season.
Pittsburgh finished 7-2 following their bye week, which included winning six of their final seven games, despite being near the bottom of the league in almost every offensive, statistical category.
The Steelers scored only 28 total offensive touchdowns this season, which was tied for third fewest in the league, and averaged only 18.1 points per game.
Neither the team nor head coach Mike Tomlin have made an official announcement about Canada's status for next season.
