Groundbreaking ceremony held for new Ebensburg dog park
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday for a Cambria County dog park that's been four years in the making.
The Ebensburg Dog Park is being constructed on borough property near Lake Rowena.
Plans include large and small dog areas, dog drinking stations, benches and pavilions on an acre and a half of land.
Chances will be raffled off for a chance to be the first large and small dog into the new park, and officials say this is just one more great amenity for the area.
"Ebensburg is fortunate to have a lot of things that many of our neighbors don't, like tennis courts, a swimming pool, and the young people’s center. This is one more amenity that will make the area more attractive to residents and travelers."
Organizers say it should take about 6 weeks before the grass is ready for dogs so they hope to have a grand opening ceremony for the dog park sometime in August.
