Authorities in Somerset County say a Boswell man was killed over the weekend following a single-vehicle, rollover crash in Quemahoning Township.

Troopers say 40-year-old Ronald Druist was reportedly traveling southbound Saturday morning, along Route 4019 (Plank Road), when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to negotiate a right-hand turn.

According to the crash report, Druist's vehicle reportedly crossed into the oncoming lane, and then back into the southbound lane, before leaving the roadway.

Police say the vehicle then struck multiple embankments and went airborne, prior to crashing head-on into a tree.

Troopers say the vehicle finally came to rest on its roof, after striking the tree.

Authorities noted that Druist was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police say the investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
